Inground pool builders in Meridianville, AL

New pools and outdoor living for Meridianville's growing neighborhoods along the U.S. 231/431 corridor north of Huntsville.

Meridianville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in northern Madison County, north of Huntsville and east of Harvest, with Hazel Green to the north. Its population was about 8,200 at the 2020 census and an estimated 11,500 by 2024, making it the county's second-fastest-growing place. Joseph Fenwick laid out lots here in 1818 along the Nashville-to-Huntsville road, now U.S. 231/431, and the name comes from its spot on the base meridian line.

Pool projects in Meridianville

Much of Meridianville's housing is new, built since 2000 in subdivisions that replaced farmland. New construction often means fresh grading and fill around the house, and recently disturbed soil needs good compaction under decks and patios. Many new neighborhoods have covenants on pools and fences, and yards are open enough for most delivery equipment.

Typical pool work in Meridianville

  • Fiberglass pools with quick installs on new lots
  • Vinyl liner pools for larger swimming areas
  • Gunite pools with sun shelves and spas
  • Decks graded to drain on fresh fill
  • Fencing that meets county barrier rules

Permits and barriers

As an unincorporated area, Meridianville pool permits generally go through Madison County's Building Inspection Department. The county requires the owner to sign a barrier statement and to keep safety features in place after inspection.

Common questions

Is it a problem to build a pool on a new-construction lot?

Not usually, but fill soil from grading should be well compacted or removed under the pool and deck. The builder should check before digging.

Do pools in Meridianville need a fence?

Madison County requires a code-compliant barrier for new or altered pools more than 24 inches deep, unless a qualifying safety cover is used.
