Inground pool builders in Hampton Cove
Pools and outdoor living for the master-planned neighborhoods of Hampton Cove, in the coves between Monte Sano, Green Mountain and Keel Mountain.
Hampton Cove is a master-planned community in the Big Cove area of Huntsville. Development began in 1992 around a 54-hole golf facility on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Today it covers about 2,800 acres with roughly 2,000 homes in 20 neighborhoods, from patio homes to large estates, plus 28 stocked lakes and about 20 miles of sidewalks and paths. It sits in the coves between Monte Sano and Green Mountain to the west and Keel Mountain to the east, near the Flint River.
What's different about building a pool here?
Terrain and covenants. Lots closer to the mountains slope, which can call for retaining walls, raised pool walls or a split-level deck, and rock may show up during digging. Lots near the lakes and the Flint River bottomland may deal with wetter soil. Neighborhood associations typically review pools, fences and outdoor structures, so plan for an approval step.
Typical pool work in Hampton Cove
- Gunite pools with spas and water features on view lots
- Retaining walls and terraced decks on sloped yards
- Fiberglass pools where crane access works
- Covered patios and outdoor kitchens
- Remodels of pools from the early neighborhoods
Plan for access
Golf course and lake lots can be beautiful and hard to reach. Before choosing a pool type, ask the builder how excavators and concrete trucks or a crane will get into the back yard, and what will be restored afterward.
